The two Republican Todds facing Democratic incumbent congressmen on both sides of the Ohio River are both railing against the failure of the Democratic Congress to pass a budget resolution.
Todd Lally, the Kentucky 3rd Congressional District opponent of U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth says Yarmuth “comes back to the district with no budget, no path to reduce the deficit and tired excuses about the former administration. This kind of procedural incompetence can no longer be tolerated.”
Meanwhile, Todd Young, the Indiana 9th Congressional District opponent of U.S. Rep. Baron Hill is wondering aloud if the skyrocketing debt is a conspiracy of the Obama administration to clear a path for a national value-added tax:
The higher the debt, the more likely it is that the commission will call for a national value-added tax, similar to the VAT taxes collected by so many European countries.
