Congressional Announcement

I want to thank you all for coming here today to celebrate the announcement of my official decision to enter the Congressional race for the 3rd district of Kentucky. I picked Tyler Park to announce this important decision because this is the neighborhood that I grew up in. I am the fourth of eight kids from a hard working middle class family. From simple beginnings as a child playing here in this park I grew into a military veteran of 21 years. My experiences abroad, including in Iraq and Afghanistan, have demonstrated the greatness of our nation, and provided warnings against the dangers of government corruption.

I believe our political system thrives when individuals step forward and choose to make a difference. Too many times we see good men and women decide not to run for office because of the sacrifices that it entails. My decision to run was not an easy one. However, after watching the continuous encroachment of the federal government into our daily lives and the complete imbalance of power, I said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I am running to stop this ambitious government takeover. I’m running to fight for the PEOPLE.

The people of Louisville want a Representative that listens to their concerns and is not just trying to further his personal agenda at considerable cost to the taxpayers. Louisville is a great place with hard working families who want their tax dollars spent wisely in Washington. I agree with them. When elected, I WILL BE THE CONSCIENCE of every taxpayer in Louisville. This Congress’ deficit spending threatens our livelihood and that of our children. I will work hard as your Congressman to stop spending money we don’t have and crack down on Fraud, Waste, and Abuse in Government.

With unemployment over 10 percent, I will work hard to provide a climate for small businesses to flourish and resume hiring. BUSINESSES provide economic growth, BUSINESSES create jobs, and what BUSINESSES need is LESS government interference, LESS bureaucracy and LESS unnecessary regulation blocking the path to growth. We want a government that will provide us with a basic infrastructure and a safe secure environment for commerce. Give us that, and WE THE PEOPLE will fuel the economic stimulus to get our country back on track.

It’s time for Louisville to have a NEW generation of leadership in the Republican Party. There’s no question a NEW message with NEW solutions is needed to reach out to young families and new voters concerned about our country’s future. We need to think about what America will look like if we don’t change course. An America where personal and economic freedom is curbed, where taxes are extraordinarily high, and where the debt of failed policies of big government gets passed from generation to generation. I will challenge John Yarmuth to explain his failed policies and DEMAND STRAIGHT ANSWERS on your behalf.

I will run a grassroots campaign which will include ALL parts of Louisville and ALL its citizens. Our current administration is leading us in the wrong direction, and I believe the people are READY for a course correction. I am the candidate that will serve as your voice. With your help and hard work we can bring a new era of RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY, DIGNITY and HONOR to Washington. If we work together we can achieve an America that is ONCE AGAIN the envy of the world. We will fight for that day, and with your help, I will lead that fight all the way from right here in Tyler Park to Washington DC!
